I have been following the number of new cases in the five county Philly area (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia) for some time. The main reason for that is that I am an Uber driver who stopped driving on March 19 because my wife and I are senior citizens with underlying health issues. I have been saying for about a month that I will not go back out until there are 0 new cases in the Philly area for 14 days. That is because as an Uber driver I don’t know where I am taking someone until they get in the car. Many times I started with a ride in West Chester and wound up in Philadelphia. I am beginning to wonder if I will ever go back to Uber driving.
In Southeast PA the number of new cases keeps getting larger. We now have over 26,000 cases in the Philly area. That is up by 5,000 in the past 3 or 4 days. I use two websites to get my data. One is the Chester County site and the other site is the PA Department of Health. The Chester County site has changed the way they report cases twice in the past 3 weeks and I wonder why they have done that? They have stopped showing the number of cases in each township, but now show the percentage of positive cases. And these numbers are for the most part under 1.0%. Now this can play right into the hands of the let’s open up everything crowd. They made another change yesterday and it is no longer easy to see the number of new cases on a daily basis. So why did they do that?

I am very thankful that we have a great Democratic governor who understands science! I have finally been able to sign up and put a claim in for unemployment that goes back to late March, although I have not seen any money at this time.
Any other Uber or Lyft drivers out there?
