A Salt Lake City man pulled out a hunting bow and arrow to start shooting, yes, SHOOTING, at protesters.
Before he began to do so, a female—possibly the person who caught this on her cellphone shared this exchange with him:
Bystander: You call yourself an American?!
Bow&Arrow Shooter: Yes! In America ALL LIVES matter!
Bystander: That’s right, but that won’t matter until—DON’T YOU DARE!!
The bystander cut herself off from trying to reason with him in shock to yell at him because at that point he literally raised his bow and arrow and began to shoot into the crowd and that is when all hell broke lose. You can see a longer, “better” angle of the event here.
It is horrifying.
Horrifying that this terrible and, yes, Hillary, deplorable human being brought out a literal bow and arrow and began shooting it at people! LITERALLY.
But just as horrible was the violent swarms of people jumping on him, pounding away at him.
Did he deserve to be stopped? Absolutely.
Did he deserve any and all righteous indignation, frustration, disgust and rage thrown his way? Absolutely.
Did he deserve dozens of people (because it sure looked like there were at least 24 people attacking him) and it continued for what looked like over two minutes? No, because no human being, even the deplorable ones, deserve that, but when you bring a bow and arrow to a protest and start shooting it at people, what the fuck do you expect?!
THIS is what decade upon decade of systemic, continued racial profiling, inequality and murder has brought this country to and it’s been egged on for the last three years by our “president” to such a heightened degree. We are not just a nation that is a powder keg waiting to explode, there are hundreds upon hundreds of powder kegs littering our nation.
Peaceful protests would be nice. But when the tune never changes... When this keeps on happening… Well, something has got to give.
Why anyone would wonder why peace is turning to violence, I don’t know. After all, they say that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
We need a different result.
