The statue of Confederate President Jefferson Davis that has stood on Richmond’s Monument Avenue since 1907 was torn down tonight and hauled away (June 10). At the same time, protestors in Portsmouth, VA, pulled down four statues from a Confederate monument.
It comes a day after the Christopher Columbus statue in Richmond's Byrd Park was pulled down by protesters.
On Saturday, a Confederate statue honoring Confederate Gen. Williams Carter Wickham was torn down in Richmond's Monroe Park.
