The billionaires of America have received the maximum benefit achievable in Trump’s presidency. He’s allowed their most fruitful agenda by stealing headlines with insane tweets while Mitch McConnell has shredded the Constitution, replacing true democracy with #RepubloFascism where the needs of corporations vastly outweigh those of the American people. McConnell has also enjoyed that cover for discretely packing the nation’s courts with unqualified hyper-partisans.
It’s been billionaire bliss.
Trump’s rampant deregulation has provided extra profits when expensive safeguards of citizens are discarded. Millions of acres of public parklands have been opened up for instant exploitation. And the Trump/GOP tax scam cut tax obligations by about half while beefing up deductions that only the wealthy can enjoy.
But now long-term profits swing in the balance. Trump’s vanity may end up really sinking the economy. Trump is too vain to wear a mask, and so his followers refrain too. After the Memorial Day premature re-opening in red states, the covid numbers are again spiking.
And the millions who so willingly vote against their best interests, those who swoon over Trump, will continue to cast their best interests aside, this time on a physical level. The crowd in Tulsa for Trump’s rally this Saturday will delight in diving into his #LemmingMoshPit. Tens of thousands of new cases will result from that one night, when family and friends are also infected. Yet no fault will fall on Trump himself because everyone must sign a disclaimer to get in.
For a few more weeks, that anti-mask attitude will be the lit fuse on a new outbreak that will strafe the South. Then, when evidence is undeniable a month from now, Trumpists will wake up to how Trump cares nothing about their health, their families, or their churches. This second spike, still within the first wave of infections, will be the tipping point for millions on the Trump agenda.
Many states will have to shut back down, the stock market will again collapse, and worst of all for the Trump doctrine on covid, the college football and NFL seasons will either be cancelled or happen without spectators.
Trump’s strategy of rhetoric instead of action will doom his re-election. And the margins in November won’t be close enough to be overridden through the usual GOP tools of #ElectionTheft such as electronic voting machine tweaking, voter purges, and closing precincts in black neighborhoods.
Oligarchs are looking at a #BlueTsunami that takes all their means of manipulating policy, regulation, and budgetary favoritism out of play for perhaps a generation.
Rather than see that happen, it’s time for Plan B among the American oligarchs. It’s time to cut bait on Trump and perhaps try and bolster Pence. But Pence is a hard sell to the Trumpists who rely on the bravado and vile rhetoric. Pence can’t pull that off. So immediate action is needed to groom another more viable patsy for November or Biden will win in a landslide.
But how do they send Trump packing quickly without alienating his vociferous base?
That’s where the Supreme Court comes in. Today’s judgement securing the LGBTQ community’s right to employment showed unexpected adherence to precedent rather than the simple partisanship that has dominated the court’s recent past.
What if that were to be the same approach taken to the case that Trump’s lawyers have pushed to #SCOTUS, trying to keep his taxes from being sent to the House by lawful subpoena? What if both Deutsche Bank and Mazars have to turn over not only the tax returns but also all supporting documents that will likely show a conspiracy to obstruct justice?
Trump would be toast if that happens. Not only will there be substantial grounds for a second impeachment, the taxes would likely show his fiduciary liability to Russian and Saudi oligarchs. The means of kompromat would be clearcut.
Even if his base doesn’t care, Trump can’t be reelected by 25 to 30% of voters. His tone-def approach to #GeorgeFloyd will continue to alienate more voters over time, so that number might shrink even more. So the only question remains, does Trump resign before or after the damage is done? He might claim health issues as the reason, because that would keep his base largely intact for his next enterprise: the launch of Trump TV.
Oligarchs have ways of getting things done far beyond what we can readily imagine. A whisper in the right ear might sway SCOTUS and save tens of billions for the exceedingly wealthy. Because if Trump goes down of his own accord, economic depression worldwide might be unavoidable. No matter how much lipstick you have, you eventually run out of pig...
