Welcome to another edition of my Quarantine Quaraoke series! I thank you for taking the time to listen to the songs I have recorded and put out there for your enjoyment during this time. There may be another edition coming up in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for that! Meanwhile, enjoy these songs after the story break
Here at Top Comments we welcome longtime as well as brand new Daily Kos readers to join us at 10pm Eastern. We strive to nourish community by rounding up some of the site's best, funniest, most mojo'd & most informative commentary, and we depend on your help!! If you see a comment by another Kossack that deserves wider recognition, please send it either to topcomments at gmail or to the Top Comments group mailbox by 9:30pm Eastern. Please please please include a few words about why you sent it in as well as your user name (even if you think we know it already :-)), so we can credit you with the find!
So, in this edition, I don’t have a theme or anything, these are just some songs I like. First, one of the (IMHO) most beautiful songs Simon and Garfunkel ever did. It’s rather short, and when I see comments saying “why is it so short”, I always reply that it’s exactly as long as it needs to be. This is April Come She Will
The next one is one of my favorite oldies. It’s a happy melody combined with a very sad theme. It’s about a boy crying in the rain because he has lost his love. It was one of the the last Billboard Number Ones before The Beatles invaded. Ue O Muite Arukou—more commonly known as “Sukiyaki”. Please forgive my whistling. Not my best form. Also, how’s my Japanese?
Finally, one that has some deep meaning for me. When I was in college, this was usually the last song we played at our Fraternity parties. We all used to gather arm in arm in a big circle—almost a group hug—as this played. It also has deep meaning even now, in these times, as a reminder of who we should be as human beings. PS—there was alcohol involved when I sung this. This is He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother
So that’s it for now. The next iteration, whenever it is, will be me accompanying myself on guitar and ukulele. I should have three ready hopefully by July 4.
And as always, if you have a request, please leave it in the comments. I’d love to do more singing for you all.
I hope you have enjoyed my choices of songs and my singing this past month.
And now, on to Tops!

Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist and/or Comment Formatter. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down.
