We have all seen the scenes from Tulsa where trump gave a rousing flaccid speech in the arena where millions of his supporters did not show up. He masterfully creepily explained to the sleepy crowd for over 15 minutes why he walked gingerly down the “slippery” slope at the West Point Military Academy.
Some of us may not have seen the scene of this trumphant warrior returning from battle to the White House, supposedly to the thunderous roar of the grateful millions who welcomed him back to DC. Apparently, he even jogged down the last few steps and all the way to the White House, holding his red-stained MAGA hat as a trophy shield with which he vanquished his invisible enemies. However, some have called it the “walk of shame”, given trump’s deflated demeanor and the smell of defeat wafting in the air.
Here is a video of the “walk of shame” -
Some felt that the video needed some music to enhance the moment, so here are some notable attempts to breathe life into the lifeless video -
The Incredible Hulk Lonely Man theme works well too -
Why was trump so sad? Perhaps, because he made a fool of himself, in front of a yawning crowd bragging about his water drinking abilities and having to explain his previous walk of lame at the academy for over 15 minutes -
Looks like the millions thousands who attended the rally had more energy and enthusiasm than trump. Maybe not.
Here is some more music for the video -
This one adds some reassuring words from none other than the great philosopher Homer Simpson -
Here is another mournful rendition, again featuring the tuba. Wonder why everyone selects the tuba when adding music to this video.
Here is one without the tuba — the Ashokan Farewell.
Here is another notorious walk of shame from earlier this month — to the tune of … the tuba.
Of course, we all remember this classic tuba tune from a few years ago used to troll marching neo-Nazis -
Back in the safety of the bunker, here is what trump is looking forward to watching tonight -
Is mocking trump meaningful and productive?
I think it serves a purpose. Besides providing some comic relief in these days of depressing news, it helps to get under trump’s thin skin and put him and his supporters on the defensive. After all, he is the master of mocking and insulting others and getting maximum mileage out of it. Let’s hope trump spends 15 minutes at his next rally justifying this lugubrious walk of shame.
Meanwhile, we have to stay focused on GOTV and minimizing the damage this wrecking ball presidency will inflict in the next few months before trump is booted out of the White House.
