His loyalists have always seen Donald Trump as a STRONG leader. For the last three-plus years, 40-percent of Americans have swiped away any criticism of the president by saying “Trump keeps us safe” or “he is just like me” or “at least he isn’t Hillary.” The more boorish Trump’s behavior — the more kids he locks in cages or the more dictators he fawns over — the deeper these people dig in their heels, convinced they are getting one over on the “snowflake” liberals.
These people have conflated narcissism with strength, defined meanness as a virtue, and dismissed incompetence as a preferred way of doing business.
But I think that is beginning to change.
Today, finally, Trump is seen more as an unmasked buffoon than a victim of hate.
Trump’s extreme failures in leading this nation through an epidemic and his complete lack of leadership during historic racial unrest have finally exposed him as the pathetic clown he is.
Strong men don’t hide in bunkers from mostly peaceful protesters. Strong leaders don’t call in federal muscle so they can stage photo-ops with a Bible, a book Trump has likely never read. People of strong character don’t lash out on Twitter about anyone and everyone their tiny minds view as a threat.
That he sips water weird, or shuffles down a ramp and then lies about it, or sulks like a toddler when his MAGA crowd doesn’t materialize in Tulsa only reinforces the point that Donald Trump is a very weak and pathetic individual.
Donald Trump is a loser of the most despicable variety. Voters should be reminded of this fact all the way to November 3.
