Article III of the US Constitution defines treason:
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.
Let’s see if this applies to Trump.
It increasingly appears to be the case that Russia offered — and paid — bounties to the Taliban to kill NATO soldiers, including Americans. Killing our soldiers or arranging to have them killed is the definition of an enemy. There is increasing evidence that some US soldiers have been killed for this bounty.
It is clear that American intelligence discovered this. It is inconceivable that they did not brief the president once they found out.
Even if for some reason they didn’t, or if (as is likely) Trump heard them and didn’t listen, he is now on actual notice that intelligence has discovered this. His response following this actual notice was to go golfing. By refusing to react against Russia following the public revelation, he is giving Russia aid and comfort.
In the months since Trump was (supposed to be) informed of this action by Russia, Trump has done nothing do to stop it. To the contrary, he has actively worked to bring Russia back into the G7, something Putin has long wanted.
That constitutes giving aid and comfort to a country which has been working to get our troops killed.
THIS IS TREASON. We still need two witnesses, but that shouldn’t be too hard.
The House is going to have to start a new impeachment inquiry over this. The Speaker may be waiting for the country to come to a boil and back her up, but I can already hear the water rumbling.
