I tend to be obsessive about understanding current events. So, starting back in March when I started my Safer-At-Home program I decided to use my free time building a comprehensive timeline of Coronavirus pandemic events as a way of understanding how a lowly virus took over the world.
The project has become somewhat of an obsession as I’ve now built a comprehensive timeline on my personal blog containing some 654 reference links to news sources, in addition to a collection of source documents and charts that I’ve built up over the past several months. I’d like to make my resources available to the DKos community.
I cannot directly include my timeline directly in this diary post. For one, my timeline is simply too large a file. For another, I’ve used some advanced webpage styling to help tell the story which is not available here at Daily Kos. Instead, I will embed my link here:
COVID-19 Timeline Project
Yes, this does constitute shameless pimping of my site — but I do think I’m offering a resource of value. As bonus, I’ve made my research notes available under a creative commons license, freely available to anyone who wants to build their own timeline. My research notes are available here:

I also reference all the other resources I’ve developed in the process of building this timeline project. I do hope this may be useful to folks. For me, some groups of entries take on a surrealistic aspect for the dissonance between real-world events simultaneous with what our government officials are saying/doing .
