I grew up in the 70s and 80s, with my best friend I was lucky enough to discover in 81 or so, We’ve been best friends ever since and we talk on the phone often.
So when I think of my childhood I think of him, and the games that we used to play.
At the same time, I grew up on The Brady Bunch. I cannot watch it now as it is beyond corny, but back then I/we loved it.
We used to (My BF and I) quote from it all the time.
One of our favorite games came from the following clip of a part of an episode.:
Hey guys….let’s play Ha!
And we used to quote that line, in our best imitation of a pre-pubescent girl…..then we would play Ha!
Now if I were to tell kids of today that we played Ha! they would look at me as if I was a space alien.
By the time I explained what it was and where it came from it would not go any easier.
I am not trying to put down groups of people younger than I am...I am just saying when I have explained the game and talk about how we used to play it to younger people I get that ghost look in their eyes.
It was the same way when my parents, of blessed memory, would tell me what they did as kids, way back in the early days of mankind. :) My father was born in 1930 my mom in 1936...so the games they played as a kid had me shaking my head in disbelief
So….my question to you fine folks is: what game did you play as a child that you think would get that glazed/odd look from kids of today, when you tell them about it?
