Growing up I have been lucky enough to have traveled to a few countries outside the United States,
Growing up in the Detroit area I have been to Canada more times than I can count. I also went with my ex and his friends to a few cities in Mexico.
Both countries had many great things to offer…..the people, the cultures (For me a big part too is their food :) and it felt “right” getting to know people from different places,
But by far my favorite place that I ever visited was Israel. It is hard to explain if you’re a Christian, since even though the US is not a Christian nation per se, but the majority of people that live here are Christian. Being Jewish I often feel like an outsider here, from experiencing open acts of anti-Jewish actions to just being a ….
you might thnk that is a small thing, but it really isn’t.
Being in Israel seeing people who believed as I do, who shared a common ethnicity meant a lot. Plus being in the birthplace of so much history was wonderful.
