Who was your favorite detective on the show Law & Order?(NOT counting Criminal Intent/SVU)

In my opinion one of the best TV shows of recent times was Law and Order.

The show stayed fresh across various actors and various plots each week…..in my mind it is one of the few shows that managed to stay very good even after some characters left, and others came on.
