But note: if you kosmail to an entire group, it will NOT put a new-message alert at anyone’s message/envelope icon nor at the MESSAGES line in anyone’s WELCOME BACK box. Best practice: search the group’s members page one admin at a time, click on the name to reach her/his profile page and see how recently s/he’s commented and/or posted a diary (if within the last couple of days, s/he’s likely to be back to reply to comments) and used the Send Message link up in the top section of the profile page to kosmail direct to that individual.
Open Thread Groups & Series
DK’s friendly, regularly scheduled open-thread groups are good places to see how groups do things by participating in their comment threads. Most of these groups are tagged “community” — that tag means they are for friendly interaction, information-sharing, and so on, not for argument/debate the way most topical diaries and groups are. Community groups are welcoming to newcomers, and usually have several longtimers who can answer questions about DK how-to. See the yellow Key to Symbols box, above for more community groups along heritage and health-issue lines, etc.

Diaries in the NewDKGroupss series are posted about as often 3 or more new groups are created. The series in total covers groups created 2018 onward, with earlier groups occasionally spotlighted. Corrections to data are welcome. Please kosmail to diarist or comment in the thread.
For automatic delivery of future diaries like these to your ActivityStream, hover on the #NewDKGroups in the list of TAGS up in the left margin. When the outline of a heart appears, click on it, and it’ll go solid (you’re “following” the tag and series), and that’s how it’s done. ;)
<big><big>Anyone needing volunteer-from-home ways to take part in getting out the vote, see the big bright yellow colorbox at the foot of belinda ridgewood’s Tuesday KTK diaries (just before the comments start), e.g., THIS ONE. All able-bodied enough kosaks who can volunteer at their local Dem organizations to help get out the vote and help get word out about our candidates, contact those organizations NOW if you haven’t already, and start putting in a little time and elbow-grease every week or two, depending on how they can train and assign you IN THIS VERY VIRALLY CHALLENGING MOMENT IN HISTORY.
The Parasite-in-Chief has just PURCHA$ED THE GOODWILL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE with that $timulu$ check hand-out. So, the sooner you get involved, the more good you’ll do and the less you’ll freak out, because you’ll be among friends all fighting the good fight and keeping each other going. Probably also eating a fair amount of pizza together late at night in Zoom conferencing on strategy and tactics. :) That’s what friends are for.</big><big>
