Yes friends, its that time once again, for the Monday Good News Roundup. Where I, your humble hose, share you the news to get you over that Weekday beginning slump that is Monday Morning. Its been a hot miserable summer for me working outside, and the Pandemic has not helped things, but I do my best to keep my chin up high, because I know in my heart there are better days ahead, the era of Trump will becoming to a close sooner rather than later, and we’re gonna make it happen.
So without further ado, the news.
Senate Republicans are set to pull the curtains back on their plan for the next economic stimulus package on Monday. The proposal, known as CARES 2, will include a second stimulus check for up to $1,200 as well as other potential benefits beyond direct payments. (Here's when we think the IRS could send the first checks.)
The new check is expected to follow the lead of the first stimulus check and max out at $1,200 for individuals and $500 for dependents. Factors such as annual taxable income, citizenship, age, marital status and number of family dependents will be examined to determine who will qualify.
Of course the GOP have been dragging their feet on this, but the fact its coming soon is good news indeed, a lot of people need that money (I still got some of it, but I could always use more, most people could), hopefully the GOP wont be able to cut too many people out of the deal.
A German court on Thursday convicted a 93-year-old former SS private of being an accessory to murder at the Stutthof concentration camp, where he served as a guard in the final months of World War II. He was given a two-year suspended sentence.
Bruno Dey was convicted of 5,232 counts of accessory to murder by the Hamburg state court, news agency dpa reported. That is equal to the number of people believed to have been killed at Stutthof during his service there in 1944 and 1945. He also was convicted as an accessory to attempted murder.
Good. Its never too late to make a Nazi pay for his crimes. I hope everyone in ICE who is participating in locking up kids is paying attention, because this is what’s waiting for them when they’re in their 90’s.
Heather Childers, who had been an early morning host on Fox since 2012, was benched after the incident in late March. She was not put back on the air again — despite her public campaign on Twitter and her messages to President Trump.
This week, after sources said that Childers was no longer affiliated with the network, a Fox spokeswoman confirmed her exit.
"Fox News and Heather Childers have parted ways. We wish her all the best," the spokeswoman told CNN Business.
The unusual circumstances of her exit are a window into the television news industry's adjustments due to the pandemic.
Fox News has been especially highly scrutinized since many of its highest-rated stars downplayed the dangers of Covid-19 during key periods in February and March, when the virus was silently spreading across the United States.
Good, take these liars and fakes to task for making the COVID pandemic much worse than it needed to be. And Trump is next mark my words.
Tesla has announced a ramp-up of its solar roof installations with a three-times increase over the last quarter alone.
The Solar Roof has been a product slow to ramp for Tesla as it had to find ways to test its longevity in an accelerated environment and make installations cheaper and faster.
We got a first indication that installations are getting a lot faster as Tesla confirmed that it “roughly tripled” solar roof installation in Q2 versus Q1.
Very good news, not only do we need to get rid of Trump we also need to save the Earth, and we’re making progress on that front as well. (Remember to switch to Ecoasia as your search engine of choice if you haven’t already, all the searching power of google and it plants trees as you use it!)
On the House floor on Wednesday, Rep. Ted Yoho, R-Fla., apologized for the “abrupt manner” of an exchange he had with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., on Monday. Yoho said the “offensive name-calling words” that were quoted in press reports weren’t “spoken to my colleagues.” It was reported that Yoho had a tense conversation with Ocasio-Cortez and then used a profanity after the two walked away.
And even then he gave a shitty non apology for his bullshit. But it doesn’t matter, cause people like AOC let their haters be their motivators. The fact she got you so worked up in the first place means she won. And you know that.
Well that’s it for this week, sorry the pickings were a little slim, but you know how I do, go in and get the stories as I write. In any case have a good week, stay safe, stay healthy and stay hopeful.
