Here’s a problem I haven’t seen enough coverage of. With millions of college students living back with their parents in the fall, those who are registered in their college towns WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE in their parents’ home town/state/district.
Unless they register to vote where they are now living.
With most states having a registration deadline of about 30 days before the election, it’s imperative that we start pushing these students to register back home, if they know they will not be living in their adopted college town.
While this is important for every college student voter, it is even more so in the swing states, whether they allow easy vote-by-mail/absentee, early voting, or just in-person voting.
If you know a college student who usually lives in their college town, but is back home due to the pandemic… Ask them if they are registered to vote where they are now living. And give them advice on how to get registered.
