These comments misrepresent what I was saying and this just proves the point. The point is hate. Hate doesn’t heal. We need to heal and we need healers, not haters. We need to purge the haters, the ones who manipulate by hate, and those who enable them… especially the hater-in-chief.
It’s easy to tear things down; it’s harder to build them up or rebuild them anew. I specifically said that I don’t excuse anything that was done in the past or continues to be done in the present. But you can’t hear (or accept ) this. It’s scary. If you don’t subscribe to the one accepted idea, you’re attacked.
The ridiculousness is that I agree with you. I’m not attacking you. But you are attacking me. Why can’t we move on together without attacks and without anger. I am saying that hate hurts us all.
I was just bringing up an inconvenient truth about slavery. I was in no way saying we should excuse it.
