For those of you just joining / seeing for the first time, this is the fifth in a series of blogs, covering the entirety of my new short book, "A Revolutionary Solution", where you can download the free e-book, PDF, or print files. You can also go back and read the first four blogs to catch up on what I am proposing, and how I believe we can make the changes needed to actually start addressing the Climate Emergency as a planet:
And now, without further ado...
CHAPTER IX
THE JOURNEY BEGINS? YOU CAN’T GET THERE FROM HERE
I am so glad you’re still with me. So much of what has been described above will likely seem impossible because it is so radical. One of the most common arguments I have heard is: “That sounds wonderful, but it is just too utopian.” On the one hand, the world has a history of unethical people taking advantage of others with some scheme or product that seems too good to be true. It is a mistake, however, to give up on our home, our planet, because the solution at hand seems too good to be true. Would you turn down any other product, service or advice because it is “too perfect”? If others question your sanity for believing such a future possible, they should do a little research to see what others have called the true definition of insanity – doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results.
Without escaping the corrupting influences of money and the confines of arbitrary borders which define countries, we will continue to be trapped in the cycles we have endured throughout history. We will destroy what little chance we have at saving ourselves, our perfect and intensely diverse environment, our planet. At the same time, I applaud the efforts of so many hundreds of millions of people, groups and organizations, governments and even alliances such as NATO and the UN. There are so many people who invest so much of themselves in trying to help those who are oppressed and underserved, trying to stem unjust inequalities, trying to feed the world, fighting this climate emergency, and so much more.
When we switch to a world-centric organization of people, how will you best serve humanity? It’s your choice! One of the things you’ll notice from the list of community standards is that you yourself are now the most important decision-maker in your life. For many of you, this might not seem a very revolutionary concept, but, in actuality, most people in the world are unable to pursue their passions. The reasons range from direct circumstances to peer pressure, guilt, and other indirect pressures. The world urgently needs more healthcare specialists, scientists, infrastructure specialists, and an enormous amount of patience. There will be huge opportunities for those interested in renewable energy.
There is no reason to wait for a better future to be within reach when we already have the ability to reach 100 percent renewables now. There is such an extreme amount of knowledge available in our world that is not used, sometimes for political reasons but mostly for greed/monetary reasons. We truly have so much more ability than is typically expected of us, both by ourselves and by others.
There is also such an excruciatingly large amount of energy being wasted on endeavors that either add nothing of value to society or whose aim is to cause harm and destruction. Entire companies exist whose sole purpose is to find weak spots and create attack strategies on other companies and other countries. Endless hours, money, and other resources have been devoted to research, the sole purpose of which is to refute valid claims of harm caused by a company’s product, such as tobacco or opioids.
So much energy and resources are wasted on espionage, corporate secrets, military buildup and strategies. What keeps percolating to the top for me as I think of all the energy people waste on such truly meaningless pursuits is, “If only they would use their powers for good instead of evil.” That phrase is so often used as a punchline, as humor to invoke a deep belly laugh, but this is no joke and that is not a punchline. It is a truly sad fact of society as we know it today.
I spent 20 years of my life working in marketing, utilizing all the tactics of creative messaging, timing, graphics, etc. for the sole purpose of helping whoever our client was at the time to engage with potential customers to sell their particular products or services. I did it for the almighty dollar, sometimes literally sitting at the keyboard working as hard as I could for back-to-back sixteen-hour days in order to get the job done. Looking back now, I am fairly ashamed that I wasted so much of my time on such pursuits, which did little if anything to add value to society or help my fellow inhabitants of this planet.
I know I am neither the smartest nor most qualified to tell the world how to fix our challenges. I developed this manuscript to serve as a foundation to kick-start discussions, open dialogue, and begin the process of turning things around now. I am purposefully vague in some areas about actual “how to” for implementation, the best route, or potentially even the right direction. I am very purposeful in attempting to have enough research and good data to support these revolutionary ideas, and trust there are more than enough experts available in our world of 7.5 billion humans who will help sort out the details.
I also understand there are cultural differences and other factors, not least being the difficulty people will have accepting such drastic change. Also remaining are the unknown challenges I have not yet unearthed. I am making my best effort to be thoughtful and thorough. I continue to hone and refine this work through discussions with others, sharing ideas, suggestions, implementations, consequences, and roadblocks.
CHAPTER X
WHAT NOW?
Well, here you are. Whether or not you agree with the solutions I’ve suggested, you will at least have a much better understanding of the dire situation we find ourselves in. Is this the only practical solution to our situation? I believe it is the only solution that stands a chance of success. It gets to the very heart of the underlying issues currently preventing the action required to save our species from this climate emergency. Business-as-usual will end our existence within 100 years. If you want to hold on to your current way of life, just repeat this line, “R.I.P. homo sapiens.” On the other hand, maybe you agree with these solutions but either find the ideas presented “too utopian” or you are at a loss to see how this immense change is possible.
If your only argument against it is that it is too perfect or too utopian, the only logical response is to question why you don’t want the best for yourself and all humans. Perhaps you believe the basic concepts are valid but see too many areas that are left to the imagination, too many questions left unanswered in this short text. Again, that is on purpose, as there are much more talented people in all of these areas whose expertise will be needed and used to help create the best solutions on the website. We can salvage our existence in the face of our extinction. This is a call to action. It will take a concerted effort by all of us to make this happen. We can and will save ourselves.
One of the first questions I typically hear about the concepts I describe above is, “How will we make the transition?”
This will be a monumental shift. It will challenge everything we currently practice with regards to politics and economics. These are some of the issues we will break down and resolve on the website, with the help, knowledge, and wisdom of humanity. Although it is impossible to list all of the actions needed to start this change today, there are a number of things you can do today that will make an impact:
- Push to reduce or eliminate all fossil fuel consumption completely. There are many ways to do this listed on the website.
- Plant more trees. Every native tree you plant will help absorb CO2 and release life-giving oxygen into the air.
- Help author the changes needed – visit our website at http://ARevolutionarySolution.com and assist by adding your voice, your thoughts, and your expertise to address the changes needed.
- Petition your government to join the pact to eliminate all countries and all wars. This only works if we all join in and work together. We have already seen how working apart and against each other has pushed us toward extinction.
- Vote now to elect leaders who support immediate climate action.
- Teach, guide, educate others about what you know, and how to make a difference.
- Start building bridges. Connect with those from other nations, continents, and cultures. Find common ground – we are all human beings. Ask about unique challenges they face in regard to the climate emergency. Learn about other challenges they face.
- Share this book and the e-book versions available on the website.
- Help with translation into another language.
- Print and distribute free paperback copies of this text. Files for printing copies available for free at: http://ARevolutionarySolution.com.
I am not, for the life of me, ready to concede our demise. We must all, each one of us, be the leader and champion of the new direction we require as a species. We need to make the necessary changes to heal our planet and ourselves from the diseases of opulence, overindulgence, and downright greed we’re afflicted with. We must all be the engine to drive these ideas to fruition, to bear the fruit so desperately needed to save our fellow humans as well as all species of plants and animals we possibly can. This is the only way forward, and it will be extremely difficult.
It is becoming increasingly obvious as each day passes that we are getting ever closer to the point of no return with the climate emergency at hand. Each day I make lists of the “important” items and errands I need to take care of. I’ve realized my daily lists are completely nonsensical in light of the devastation coming our way, and, indeed, in the face of the destruction we’ve already witnessed. There is nothing which even remotely compares in importance! I could spend weeks, months, and even years continuing to refine and develop the message, updated with the latest graphic and catastrophic storms, hurricanes, polar ice loss, wildfires, etc. Instead, it is time to get this movement started. Time is of the essence, and we don’t have any to waste! Please, please do something now – today – to affect your environment in a positive way.
Future generations of ALL life on Earth depend on US.

To summarize, efforts to slow / reverse the climate crisis we are in face an extremely uphill battle as long as countries and money (capitalism) exist. As long as it is more desirable to make a profit than to save our planet we will NOT make any meaningful change. It is profitable to extract more petroleum from the earth and sell it. It is profitable to produce more things made of molded plastics. It is profitable to produce items made of poor quality, or with ‘planned obsolescence’. It is, on the other hand, much better for our planet to leave the petroleum where it is, make no new virgin plastics, and create products which are of superior quality that last longer. As long as monetary systems exist, there will be no escape from capitalism. It is really quite a simple and stark reality. Additionally, as long as there are separate countries, with each government deciding what they believe is best for ‘their citizens’ (or their pockets?), there will never be unified policy or decisions made with the planet in mind. With so many governments on our planet, it will be impossible to have ANY resolution that is both binding and all-encompassing, at least not one that will make a difference in the long run.
Additionally, removing all monetary systems (no, NOT back to bartering!) also removes so much of what is wrong in our society. The greed and power-hungry no longer have money as a central fixation or motivation. As there is no real ‘ownership’ of items, with the exception of your personal items and ‘keepsakes’, theft is a thing of the past. Gangs, smugglers, the entire banking industry, the entire insurance industry, all sales and marketing departments, ad agencies, stock markets and all supporting jobs, CFOs and all financial advisors, bookkeepers, accountants, cashiers and many others will now be available to help out in other ways. I understand we will need infrastructure, food, clean water, sanitation, innovation, renewable energy, solid electrical grids and LOTS of help with the climate. Unemployment will be at or near 0% as everyone able contributes, and no ‘companies’ are weighing the financial implications of employing a person, instead appreciating the help.
Removing all borders (nations) allows supplies, infrastructure projects, and humanitarian aid into places previously difficult or impossible to access due to local governments (or lack thereof). We can feed the 11% of the world’s population that is STARVING. We can offer shelter to the 22% of the world’s population that go without. The extreme amount of idle properties around the world (both residential and commercial) will help make short work of housing, coupled with all of the extra space available from banks, insurance companies, brokers, accountants, etc…. Did I mention that war, genocide, espionage and military spending will also disappear? We need to CHANGE our basic paradigms on money and countries, as difficult as that may seem. We MUST, and soon!
We are really running out of time, and need to realize that:
All humans come in to this world with equal rights, and ALL have an equal share of and an equal responsibility to our planet. No human had a say in their original nationality, race, sex, parents, ethnicity and social status. We are the dominant species on this planet folks, and we MUST protect what is both our livelihood and our stewardship.
Peace,
Keith
