I started by making my myself and my sister some Banana Pi.
Banana is always a good choice in the summertime. It’s cool and creamy and delightful.
I had decided to make two types of Pi, because some people like traditional Pi, and some people prefer deep-dish Pi. It’s a matter of taste I guess. Whatever makes you happy and comfortable.
I was really getting into it, so I thought I would make her some other “flavors” of Pi, as well.
Perhaps something more “wintry” would be nice.
So next I made us both some Blueberry Pi.
Well, that turned out quite nice, too.
I found I was really enjoying this Pi making process, so perhaps another batch was in order.
This time I decided it would be nice to make something a bit more autumnal.
So made us both some Pumpkin Pi.
OK. So now I had made Pi for three seasons. It occurred to me that I needed to complete the seasonal series with something in a vernal theme. So I made these:
OK, OK! And before you ask, let me just say this:
My sister is a middle school science teacher.
Therefore, my sick sense of humor will fit in quite nicely with that of her students!
So, yes! This WAS absolutely necessary!!!!!
(Besides, it’s just another example of “bored engineer syndrome”.)
I also made some of each of these “flavors” of Pi for the hubbie.
I made the hubbie’s Pi a little bit larger than these, so they would fit over his (larger) face and beard. It took a number of tries/tweaks to get the pattern just right to fit him and work well with his glasses.
(But, then, I’m used to tweaking recipes. And sewing is a lot like cooking. You start out with a published recipe, and then make lots of little “adjustments” until it suits you just right!
One size never fits all!)
P.S.
In addition to all the Pi I made for my family, I have also been keeping busy during the pandemic by sewing for my BFF:
And, because I’m retired, and the pandemic is pretty much keeping me at home, I had plenty of time to sew these, which I donated to the new local Veterans Life Center (which supports both men and women veterans):
I shipped these (locally) via the USPS over a week ago, and they finally arrived to their destination.
(I could have driven them there myself in less than 30 minutes!)
And here comes the political message:
Please remember the postal delays if you vote by mail, and leave enough time to return your ballot (or else hand deliver your ballot)!
Check your voter registration status online weekly between now and when you vote!
(to ensure you don’t get dropped from the voter registration rolls)
Make sure you vote!
And make sure your vote is counted!!!!
Please feel free to share stories about your “pandemic projects” in the comments.
(And share pictures! We all want to see the pictures!)
Thanks!
