SENATOR DAVID PERDUE (R-GA) has fewer accomplishments than Individual-1 According to David Perdue, he championed such great things by bringing his businessman acumen to Washington DC, and that he originally said that he was a “check and balance on an Imperial Presidency.” Perdue’s business acumen is discussed below. It is true that Perdue was a check and balance because some say that he obstructed 95% of legislation during the Obama/Biden administration and he voted to ram through 95% of the bills presented by Midnight Moscow Mitch and Individual-1.
David Perdue has been in Individual-1 toaster, on high, for 4-years, has been a rubber stamp, and burnt toast because he didn’t gain any “legislative or governance experience.”
He created thousands of American jobs during his business career. He walked away from the CEO job at Pillowtex after 7-months with $1.7 million in his pocket. The same year the company went bankrupt leaving 7,650 line workers jobless.
Perdue says he revived major American companies including Reebok and Dollar General. He was at Reebox for only three years and took credit for revitalizing the company’s brand because he lowballed a bid with the NFL. Most business analysts would say the real credit for improving the brand went to the Chief Marketing Officer.
Perdue walked away from Dollar General after 3-years with $42 million, but the discount chain had to pay out $42 million to settle several lawsuits alleging Perdue and other top executives raided the company’s profits and reduced the family’s stock value. Put another way,Perdue cost Dollar General $82 million and the company’s stock value was depressed when it was sold in a leveraged buyout.
Perdue say she worked to secure the largest military pay raise in a decade Funny that the 2.6% raise in 2019 was appropriated under Speaker Nance Pelosi’s leadership. Under the leadership of Paul “Ayn Rand” Ryan the House, the military’s annual average pay raise was only 1.5%. Perdue failed to mention that during the first three years (2008-2010) of the Obama Administration, the military raises were 3.5%, 3.9%, and 3.4% respectively.
Perdue claims to have aided efforts to rebuild the military after years of disinvestment under Obama and Biden. Congress appropriated $5.21 trillion ($651B average per year) for the military budget during the 8-years of the Obama/Biden Administration. Each year, the military complained that SOcial CONServatives (SOCONS) put funds in the budget for many line items that they neither wanted nor asked for. In the 3-years of Individual-1, the average military budget has been $635B. Many say the conflict de-escalations, refusing to incite military actions.and cost-reducing technological improvements that caused much of the drop in military spending during Paul Ryan’s watch, thus, so much for the “disinvestment” garbage.
Perdue failed mention that he didn’t put up much of a fight when Georgia lost two military installations during his tenure due to BRAC. Nor how he “fought tooth and nail” to keep funding for a military jet that the Air Force didn’t want and successfully decommissioned.
With (Individual-1), Perdue says they ensured the greatest economic turnaround in U.S. history before COVID-19, after years of stagnation under the Obama-Biden administration.
The Obama/Biden administration confronted the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression It passed a massive stimulus package to jump start the economy – and by every economic measure it was successful. Trump benefited from Obama's economic stewardship; however, the nation's steady GDP growth to decelerate in 2019 under Individual-1’s watch, dragged down by trade tensions and slowing industries overseas. Even Paul “Ayn Rand” Ryan’s $2 trillion debt-building Tax Scam didn’t help GDP.
As for the GDP? Obama/Biden’s two best GDP Quarters were 4.9% and 5.1%. The best that Individual-1 could do has been 3.1% and 4.1%. As for the stock market that “hates uncertainty?” TheTOP-20 single day drops in the history of the stock market have come during Individual-1’s tenure. Yes, there were wild fluctuations and rebounds; however, the market lost 25,100 points in just those 20-days!
Somehow Perdue singlehandedly secured billions of dollars in direct aid for Georgia hospitals and health worker sin the wake of COVID-19. Perdue has spent his entire tenure in the Senate trying to repeal Obamacare with no replacement, fought relentlessly to reduce funding for CHIP (children) and Medicaid, campaigned against Medicaid expansion in Georgia, and continues to fight against all of the above in the wake of COVID-19. He forgot to mention that Georgia has the third highest rate of hospital closures, all located in rural SOCONS communities, in the US.
Perdue has advocated for increased assistance to Georgia farmers to deal with the strains of the COVID-19 crisis. “Advocated” is another way of saying he has been paying lipservice to the farmers. Before and during COVID-19, Perdue and the SOCONS in the Senate cut the legs out from underneath farmers:
1. Congratulated the then Georgia Governor Nathan Deal signed a draconian migrant worker bill that cost farmers$400 million in lost crops because they had no workers to harvest the crops. Perdue is excited that Individual-1 has been doing the same thing on a national scale and it is having the same impact of farmers.
2. Fought to reduce funding for federal disaster relief,
3. Cheered when Individual-1 cut the farmers revenue stream by 25% with his tariffs
4. Cheered again when he threatened to cut farmers revenue stream by 15% by wanting to reduce funding for SNAP
5. Cheered three times when his cousin George Ervin "Sonny" Perdue III told farmers to stop whining because they needed to either grow big or get out. Neither of the Perdue boys bother to mention the rise in farmers suicides, opioid overdoses, and farm bankruptcies.
Perdue lead the fight to bring relief for Georgians affected by Hurricane Michael, securing billions of dollars in aid. The real question is who was Perdue fighting against? He is fighting the Tea Party SOCONS who wanted, and still want, to defund FEMA and federal disaster relief. It took 18-months,and more importantly, for Nancy Pelosi to become Speaker to at least get $347 million in aid to the farmers.
Perdue helped pass the largest tax cuts in American history. Paul “Ayn Rand” Ryan spent 20-years to finally get a President and a Senate Majority Leader addlepated enough to sign his tax scam. Measured as a percentage of GDP, the scam isn’t even in the top-5 in US history because it ranks 8th.
On the other hand, it is the largest corporate tax cut in US history and as a result, some say it added $2 trillion to the national debt, $1trillion to the annual deficit, and most say that it did not accomplish not onething that Ryan nor Individual-1 promised.
Perdue voted in support passage Paycheck Protection Program, which he claims has saved over 1.5 million jobs since the COVID-19 crisis began. This was supposed to be direct incentives for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll. Perdue succeeded in blocking safeguards to make big corporations ineligible, keep business owners from spending monies on luxury and personal items, or to insure that the Treasury Secretary would administer the funds wisely.
Perdue had a conference call with the President of Morehouse College to exclaim the need for scholarships for disadvantaged youth. He proceeded to highlight the financial challenges facing a specific 2019 Morehouse graduate. To show how out of touch Perdue and his staff really are, no one told them that Black Billionaire Robert Smith. committed publicly to pay-off the student debt for the entire Morehouse Class of 2019.
David Perdue is advertising that he has experience; however, he has one of the lowest number of drafted legislation, has parroted hard right SOCONS talking points with no original thought, and has missed more than twice the average number of roll call votes. Perdue is burnt so bad that there is nothing left to do but throw him in the trash.
