So my 12-year-old son had a practice assignment to test the submission system of our school district’s new remote-learning platform, and this is what he submitted. He even made, with NO prompting from his political parents, such a simple, silly question relevant to social studies!
QUESTION: Are you more like an apple or an orange?
ANSWER: I would say that I am more like an apple than an orange because the color of my face is nowhere near Trump’s face color. — Alec
I love my boys more than life itself… and am glad they can express themselves with humor even during these stressful times (my 7-year-old, watching his dad melt down Sunday as the Detroit Lions blew their latest fourth quarter lead, said, “I just don’t understand this game.” Don’t worry, I’ve not led them into the morass of becoming Lions fans like my dad, rest his soul, did to me!).
PS. HUGE shout out to teachers! Our teachers are amazing and deserve to be held up as much as our nation’s other front line heroes during this pandemic (and beyond). My 7-year-old’s teacher is doing a fantastic job managing 20+ third graders online, even teaching them the basics of computer usage and how to navigate a brand new remote-learning system, while also having three kids of her own at home remote-learning. We can’t thank them enough!
