I don’t tell many lies. Sometimes I fudge my responses a bit when talking to my psychiatrist. Like, I’ll tell her I’m exercising regularly to improve my mood, when by “exercising” I actually mean “eating Corn Nuts.”
So it’s not that tough to keep track of my little white lies.
But Trump is a regular Fibber McFirePants who somehow manages to lie more often than he exhales. So it’s impossible for him — or anyone else, for that matter — to keep track of his numerous plaintive prevarications.
And since Trump’s brain is essentially blood pudding at this point, a lie from 2018 is sure to escape his notice. As it did this morning during an interview with Fox & Friends.
CNN:
In perhaps the most notable moment of the session, Trump said he had previously wanted to order the assassination of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and "had him all set," but that then-Secretary of Defense James Mattis opposed the idea.
This was a complete contradiction from Trump's comments two years ago. After journalist Bob Woodward reported in 2018 that Trump had wanted Assad assassinated after a Syrian chemical attack on civilians in 2017, Trump
told reporters that the report was "fiction" and that an assassination "was never even contemplated, nor would it be contemplated."
Trump also claimed again that Biden is taking performance-enhancing drugs, that Biden is given questions in advance by the media (which tells me Trump is given questions in advance by the media), and that Trump fired Gen. James Mattis (he clearly resigned), among other absurd lies.
Hmm, must be Tuesday. Or a day, at any rate.
Let’s get this serial liar out of the people’s house.
