Back in February, I put up a story to introduce Buckeye State Rural’s efforts to put what we hoped would be 10 to 15 billboards in rural areas of Ohio. We wanted to encourage rural residents to think differently about voting for Democratic candidates in order to “change the conversation” in rural Ohio.
We don’t yet know if we have changed the conversation or have gotten people to vote for Democratic candidates, but we have succeeded beyond our dreams in placing billboards. There are now 38 of our billboards for the months of September and October in 13 counties and 5 Congressional districts. Our billboards stretch from Lorain county near Lake Erie to just above Cincinnati in southwest Ohio and Athens county in southeast Appalachian Ohio. We expect these billboards to be viewed about 20 million times between their placement and election day.
You can see some of them here.

We have completed our billboard purchases for this election cycle, but we are considering some digital ads and planning for the future. We’re just getting started ...
