A most delicious, schadenfreude-inducing article on the home page of the Washington Post today catalogues the setbacks suffered by Mister Trump and the Trump Organization since that little insurrection thing last week.
In November — as President Trump began his effort to overturn the election he had lost — his longtime friend Tom Barrack called him with advice: Stop, for the sake of your business. . . . An “elegant” exit, Barrack said, could preclude what could be a painful future: millions of dollars in legal costs, rampant investigations and more boycotts of his businesses.
Trump did not follow Barrack’s advice.
Here is a partial list:
- Twitter accounts permanently suspended.
- Facebook and Instagram accounts suspended indefinitely.
- Cushman & Wakefield, which handles office leasing at Trump Tower and is the listing agent for the Trump International Hotel, resigned.
- TrumpStore.com went dark on Tuesday after e-commerce host Shopify pulled the plug.
- Payment processing company Stripe announced it would no longer manage payments for Trump’s campaign website.
- The PGA pulled the 2022 PGA Championship from Bedbug-minster Golf Course.
- The organizers of the British Open said they would not use Trump’s Turnberry club in Scotland for the foreseeable future.
- Trump lost his accounts at New York’s Signature Bank.
- Oh, and Trump appears to have lost the most valuable thing of all – Mitch McConnell.
And I’m sure I’ve missed many, and no doubt there will be a tsunami of troubles on the way. Okay—you talked me into it---I’ll mention a few possibilities:
- Bankruptcy
- Foreclosure
- Perp walks
- Federal prison
- New York State prison
- DNA tests
- Defamation judgments
- Complete humiliation
But, still, I’m left with many questions:
- Can Ivanka still be queen?
- Can Dumbschit Jr. still smirk?
- Can Erik Trump still be stupid?
- Will Melania still not care?
- Will you?
- Thoughts and prayers anyone?

Just in from WaPo:
YouTube suspended President Trump from uploading new videos to his official account for at least a week, joining fellow social media giants Twitter and Facebook in shutting the president out of his account because of concerns his posts will incite violence.
