You’ve really gotta go read this article at CBS News for yourselves. The excerpt of the basic facts below doesn’t do the article justice at all. At first their part was kinda hushed up, then stuff ended up online, and now these two perps are trying to bullshit their way out of it. It’d be kind of funny if this weren’t the democracy I love were talking about.
Two police officers in Rocky Mount, Virginia are facing federal charges in the January 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol. Sergeant Thomas Robertson and Officer Jacob Fracker have been charged with unlawful entry into a restricted area and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
According to a criminal complaint, Robertson and Fracker were photographed inside the Capitol building in front of a statue, with one seen pointing and the other making an obscene gesture. At the time of the riot, the two were off-duty from their jobs as police officers with the Rocky Mount Police Department, the complaint says.
(snip)
A Facebook post by Fracker that has since been deleted allegedly read: "Lol to anyone who's possibly concerned about the picture of me going around... Sorry I hate freedom? …Not like I did anything illegal…y'all do what you feel you need to…"
Another suspect from Houston is allegedly real sorry and a bit confused about his part in last Wednesday’s insurrection. He had his Police Chief fooled for a bit because his Facebook page looked clean, but then the FBI dug a little deeper. Again, the juiciest bits can be found at the link.
The Houston Chronicle
A 18-year veteran of the Houston Police Department was relieved of duty Wednesday and could likely face federal charges for participating in the Capitol takeover, Chief Art Acevedo said.
The officer, Tam Pham, was placed on administrative leave Wednesday and is scheduled for a disciplinary hearing Friday with the chief — though Acevedo expressed doubt that the officer will attend. He is expected to resign on Thursday, a police union leader said.
The Westside patrol officer was off-duty at the time and seen wearing a mask and holding a Trump flag at the Capitol, Acevedo said. When reached by phone, Pham expressed exasperated regret about attending the riots and contends he was there to observe.
All of these officers are claiming not to have participated in any violence during the assault on Capitol Hill, but knowing what we know about cops these days doesn’t that stretch reasonable doubt? They seriously expect us to believe they’re just some good ol’ Trump loving, white supremacist (maybe), gun humping (probably), steroid munching (idk), liberal hating, Capitol storming, COPS trying to overturn one (just ONE!) National Election and install a Fascist Regime… What makes us think they might be violent?
