The Feds finally got around to arresting some Kentucky insurrectionists, and one of those insurrectionsists along with his insurrectionist cousin claim that a capitol hill cop greeted them with a hug and a handshake. He also told them, “This is your house now.”
Here is some background on the two Kentuckians and one Virginian who were just arrested:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Kentucky man and his cousin accused of joining the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot that killed five people are facing federal charges, according to court records.
Robert L. Bauer, of Cave City, and his cousin, Edward Hemenway of Winchester, Virginia, have pleaded not guilty to trespassing and knowingly entering a restricted building or grounds. They appeared in federal court Friday in Bowling Green.
Penalties for the trespassing charge carry up to 10 years in prison if significant bodily injury resulted or if the individual used or carried a dangerous weapon or firearm during the offense.
And as for the insurrectionist from Louisville — my home town:
Federal investigators have arrested a Louisville man and charged him with disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
FBI Louisville arrested Damon Michael Beckley in Cub Run on Saturday, according to a tweet from the agency. Beckley is also being charged with unlawful entry of a restricted building.
Beckley had posted a viral video from the U.S. Capitol building during the deadly riot on Jan. 6, later telling WDRB News he deleted his Facebook and removed the SIM card from his phone out of fear the FBI would arrest and charge him.
Beckley is scheduled to first appear in federal court on Tuesday.
Now, Bauer of Cave City is a Qanon supporter:
Photos taken on Bauer's phone show the two men inside the Capitol, and at some point in the Crypt, or basement, of the building. In one photo, they're seen giving the middle finger.
In a video from Bauer's phone obtained by the FBI, Bauer is in the Capitol chanting, "Our house! Our house!" with a large crowd behind him.
Bauer, in his police interview, said he went into the Capitol to "occupy the space" and had no intention of assaulting law enforcement or hurting anyone.
A wonderful man. Bauer’s wife went with to D.C., but it appears she had enough sense not to go and break into the Capitol Building. She was back at the hotel.
As for his cousin Hemenway, there is just too much, “What part of ‘Do Not Enter’ did you not understand?” And there is the money quote on one of the Capitol Hill cops:
Hemenway described seeing a giant "Do not enter" sign and hearing a bang as he walked into the building, according to the complaint.
Bauer and Hemenway told the FBI after rushing into the building with the crowd, one Capitol Police officer greeted them with a hug and handshake and told them, "It's your house now," according to the complaint.
Bauer told the FBI he “believed that the policeman was acting out of fear," the complaint said.
Bauer and Hemenway may be lying. It wouldn’t be the first time some criminals lied to make their actions not appear so bad (Hey, if the cop had tried to stop me, I would have done so!). Criminals make up all kinds of shit to justify their actions.
But it may very well be true. More than one cop participated in this insurrection. And it confirms reports of the other Capitol Hill cops who took selfies with or let the insurrectionists run loose. We may never know in this particular case because the witnesses are nuts or too damn stupid to be reliable.
And now that he has been arrested, Hemenway admits to being stupid:
Hemmenway told the FBI he entered the Capitol out of "curiosity" and "stupidity." He said he knew Congress was certifying the Electoral College vote but didn't know Congress was in session that day.
He said he knows being in the Capitol under those circumstances was wrong.
As for the genius from Louisville:
Damon Beckley, 52, is seen on a Jan. 6 video taken by another protester, Jayden X, who filmed his trip through the Capitol to reach the door of the House.
About 23 minutes into the video, Beckley, wearing a "Trump" beanie, a black cap and tan hood, can be seen standing with at least 100 angry protesters in Statuary Hall…
Only a few minutes passed before the crowd, including Beckley, became unruly and pushed about 15 Capitol Police officers backward. Seconds later, he was at the front of the crowd brushed up against the House chamber door.
In an interview with WDRB News on Thursday, Beckley said he regrets his decision to go inside the Capitol, though he said he didn't hit anyone and he tried to help people to get out. He also said he only went in to check on a friend.
Which is an obvious lie because he said this DAYS before he went to D.C and gave an interview afterwards.:
He told a small crowd he would be attending the Trump rally in Washington, D.C.
"They're not going to change corruption just 'cause we're out here hollering about it. We're going to have to go in there and pull these people out because they're not just going to leave, OK?" he said, referring to politicians.
The next week, minutes after he exited the Capitol, Beckley gave an interview that went viral.
"We're not putting up with this tyrannical rule. If we're going to come back here and start a revolution and take all of these traitors out, which is what should be done, then we will!"
Beckley later told WDRB News he meant retribution should happen in the ballot box.
Lying sack of shit.
