Democrats are currently demanding that in addition to the ongoing Impeachment of Donald J. Trump, Republican enablers of the insurrection and storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6th such as Senators “Ted” Cruz and Josh Hawley face censure or even be expelled for violating their oaths to the Constitution.
Meanwhile, Republicans such as Senator Lindsey Graham, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, and Chuck Todd are calling to put aside the divisiveness and heal the country.
Now as a Democrat, I think calls to just let a violent insurrection be bygones wouldn’t actually “unify” anything, but I also believe that Democrats should try lower the political temperature so to speak.
On behalf of our better angels, I would like to propose a simple act of grace, that would show Republicans that Democrats are willing to meet them part way in defusing the current political tension.
President Biden, as a show of deep humility and good faith, I am humbly asking you to Pardon Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) for committing voter fraud.
You see, Josh Hawley Doesn’t actually own a home in Missouri, which he represents in the Senate. He lives in Virginia, with his wife and kids, and if you protest at his home in Virginia he will be there and get very mad. Hawley is registered to vote at his sisters home in Missouri, where he doesn’t live.
Now why would anyone make such an issue of a trifling thing like registering at your sister’s house when your own housing situation is a bit unstable? Well Josh Hawley said that the entire electoral vote for the state of Pennsylvania should be thrown out over some hyper-technical gimmicks, so some of the more liberal Democratic activists are using Josh Hawley’s apparent hypocrisy in an attempt to have him charged with voter fraud or even expelled from the U.S. Senate.
Think about it...if President Biden Pardons Josh Hawley for voter fraud, he will show America that he is rejecting the extreme partisan atmosphere demanded by the liberal wing of his party and is willing to reach out to even the most dishonest, power-hungry, and seditious members of the GOP and find areas where they can work together.
Thank you for your time,
