Rep. Louie Gohmert, whose brain is a ‘70s-era Easy-Bake Oven with a burned-out bulb and a decades-old rump roast moldering inside, is wailing about his recent failed court challenge, which argued that Mike Pence gets to unilaterally declare himself vice president for life because they’re all out of off-the-charts insane ideas and have been forced to dig even deeper.
A Trump-appointed judge threw out Gohmert’s suit yesterday because Gohmert lacked standing. I would have preferred the ruling had also mentioned that citizens with glitching haggis brains are not allowed to sue their government for a redress of grievances, but I don’t want to get too greedy.
So what was Gohmert’s response to his lack of standing? A call for violence, of course. Because the inviolable precept that DONALD TRUMP IS NOW AND FOREVER PRESIDENT is currently an article of faith among the undemocratic dipshits of the fascist right.
GOHMERT: “If I don’t have standing to do that, nobody does, and if the appropriate defendant is not the vice president, that under the Constitution has the power to make that determination, then there is no … But the bottom line is, the court is saying, we’re not going to touch this, you have no remedy. Basically, in effect, the ruling would be that you gotta go to the streets and be as violent as Antifa and BLM.”
Translation: My insane lawsuit went nowhere, so let loose the flying monkeys!
These folks have gone way, way off the deep end. Can someone arrest Gohmert before he and Saruman’s orcs do some real lasting damage—to people’s lives as well as the Constitution?
