Received this e-mail today from Lt. Governor John Fetterman’s (D. PA) potential U.S. Senate campaign:
All work has dignity. All paychecks must, too.
That’s why, as a U.S. Senator, I’d fight to raise the national minimum wage to at least $15 an hour.
The minimum wage wage in Pennsylvania hasn’t been raised in *more* than a decade. It’s time we stop pretending we’re saving money or jobs by paying starvation wages. It’s mathematically impossible to live on minimum wage, and we all end up making up the difference as a society in the form of public assistance, crime, health care — you name it.
As I strongly consider a run for Senate, it’s important to me to hear exactly where folks like you are on huge issues such as raising the minimum wage. So add your name if you agree: We’ve got to raise the national minimum wage to at least $15 an hour to make sure that every person can live and work with dignity.

For people trying to stay above water, the $7.25 minimum wage in Pennsylvania just isn’t enough to get by. Not even close. So why pretend it’s nothing more than an anchor to poverty, despair + dependence?
The truth is that the same politicians blocking a $15 per hour minimum wage are waiting on the other side to shame you for needing assistance simply to eat. Because the minimum wage is just *that* shitty.
I think it’s high time for us to take on this issue the right way by raising the national minimum wage to at least $15 an hour. But I realize this campaign has never just been about me. That’s why I want to know where you’re at.

Thanks for your input,
John Fetterman
Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania
P.S. Look: I believe that no one who is working 40-plus hours a week should live in poverty in America – and the majority agrees: 67% of Americans support raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour. If you’re among them, let me know by adding your name to our petition in support of raising the national minimum wage to at least $15 an hour.

By the way, also received this e-mail yesterday from the Pennsylvania Democratic Party:
Jake Corman and Harrisburg Republicans have spent all of January spreading Trumpian lies and trying to break our democracy. It isn't going well for them.
First, Corman and his caucus were lambasted for contributing to the US Capitol attack with their lies and their cries to overturn the election.
Then, Corman embarrassed Pennsylvania on the national stage when he tried stealing a PA Senate seat from its rightful winner; he was roundly rejected in court.
Next, a wave of nonpartisan government watchdogs—and even many Republicans—cried foul on a new GOP plot to politicize PA courts.
Now, dozens of PA Republicans' corporate patrons are abandoning them due to their blatant disregard for free and fair elections.
Harrisburg Republicans may be reeling, but they're still a threat to our democracy. Chip in to add another lowlight to their already bad month: a record early fundraising haul to flip the PA legislature.
