Updated 1/5 — Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has warned Donald Trump not to come to Scotland without an "essential purpose."
“Coming to play golf is not what I would consider an essential purpose.” — Nicola Sturgeon.

“There is a booking for an American military version of the Boeing 757 on January 19, the day before the inauguration.”
My bet was Trump fleeing to Russia or the Caymans, I didn’t see Scotland in the cards.
From The National:
DONALD Trump could be set to flee to his loss-making Ayrshire golf course in a bid to avoid Joe Biden’s inauguration. A source at the airport told the Sunday Post: “There is a booking for an American military version of the Boeing 757 on January 19, the day before the inauguration. That’s one that’s normally used by the Vice-President but often used by the First Lady. Presidential flights tend to get booked far in advance, because of the work that has to be done around it.
Prestwick has been told to expect the arrival of a US military Boeing 757 aircraft, that is occasionally used by Trump, on January 19 – the day before his Democrat rival formally becomes president. Airport sources said surveillance planes appeared to lay the groundwork for Trump’s arrival in November. An MC-12W Liberty – a US Air Force version of the King Air 350ER, which is modified for the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) role – landed at Prestwick on November 12. It made a number of flights over Trump Turnberry.
There was no immediate response to requests for comment from the White House or Prestwick airport.
Leaving the country before formally leaving office would be unprecedented for a US president.
Flying to Scotland before 20 January would be a way to get US taxpayers to pay for the first leg of a post-presidential holiday. It is also possible the flight was booked as a contingency by a candidate surprised by defeat and unsure what to do.
Scotland was put on lockdown today by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon. Would Donny even be allowed to visit his currently closed resort?
