Archbishop: Catholic troops can refuse COVID-19 vaccine
Catholic troops should be allowed to refuse COVID-19 vaccines for conscientious reasons, the Archbishop for the Military Services USA wrote in a statement Tuesday.
“No one should be forced to receive a COVID-19 vaccine if it would violate the sanctity of his or her conscience,” wrote Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio.
A scan of Wikipedia shows that Broglio isn’t your run of the mill padre, he went to Boston College and then studied in Rome to become a priest and later returned to obtain a JCD (Cannon Law) and was a member of the Vatican’s Diplomatic corps in various positions until 2007 when he was appointed the Archbishop of the Military, USA, a diocese for US Military member who are Catholic.
Compare and contrast with how they feel about the vaccine in Rome:

This all has me thinking huh? I was raised in a devout Catholic family, 12 years of Catholic school, and yes vaccines were required. Now I’m worried that knuckleheads will be successful in using the Archbishop’s statement as an excuse to do what I think is a very un-Catholic thing — refusing to keep your community safe from COVID by getting the shot.
Everyday, a new reason pops up to confirm my decision years ago to drift away years ago.
