Now I am sure you can tell by this Authors Handle… We are Team Evans! Virginia HD-88 is one of those flippable districts in 2021. First, let me explain the headline.
Our 44th President of these United States of America has been called in to Political Action at the battleground of Virginia. Let's be clear, he's not the calvary. The battle of Virginia has been won atleast the last 8 years, repeatedly 8 times in a row. Here's the news we’ve been fed: polls are slowly dripping away to not being in favor for Democratic voters in Virginia. The disunity or inability of the Democratic Party at the Federal level to make action without backlash has spilled over into Virginia politics and is running down the I-95 Corridor and spreading like cancer throughout the Commonwealth.
Before we get too deep. This isn’t a bash post. This is reality of what some believe or hear. This new news is being brought to you by a Democratic canvasser who speaks to voters year round, every single cycle.
In Virginia’s 2021 Gubernatorial election, the stakes are HIGH, and in most places the battle is already won. Democratic Voters who are loyal to the party aren’t affected by the misinformation nor disinformation. The Districts which are classified as Democratic strongholds will be unaffected. The gerrymandered districts which are decided by non-partisan independent thinking voters will inevitably be impacted by the polarizing nature of the federal governments impact on the economy. Most of the time a canvasser in the rural parts of the Commonwealth can put distance between what Virginia does and the news of what’s going on in the Nation’s Capitol. These last few weeks of the election will be telling. People are seriously tired of hearing about the infighting. Tired of the polarization. Tired of “extremism”. Yet they misunderstand the tenants of what the Democratic Party is actually fighting for: Equal Opportunity, Fair Laws, Fair Elections, a healthy environment, and the freedom to pursue happiness as long as it doesn’t infringe on the happiness of others to name just a few.
In reality, most reading this post already knew those things, but what many forget is the ugly truth that there are people less than two (2) hours away from the nations capitol who don’t have reliable internet. Try working from home with a max download speed of 3 Mbs or worse yet 600 kbps because you’ve used up all your available data due to the extended zoom call for work. How about the thought of having to walk up a hill from your house just to make a 911 emergency phone call because you don’t have actual phone service at your home.
Yikes! The voters in “the last mile” or in some cases the last 10 miles, won’t understand what’s going on unless they turn on the TV or the radio, maybe the local paper. For good or bad its always slanted information towards what most of people want to hear.
To amplify awareness of the critical importance of this election, Former Gov. McAuliffe has brought in several big names in the political arena including the headliner President Barack Obama for the official kick-off of GOTV weekend in Richmond, VA. This will be good for the overall Commonwealth, but the chess move comes with likely some sacrifices. Another move, that would probably better, would be for the heavy hitters to play serious offense in the districts President Biden almost flipped. Either way, it’s a safe bet the Blue chip “stocks” will remain up.
You can find an excellent article covering those details which seats Biden won and almost flipped here bluevirginia.us/…
Now I am sure you can tell by this Authors Handle… We are Team Evans! Virginia HD-88 is one of those flippable districts in 2021. Without much effort, Kecia will get more than 40% of the vote. Therefore, Kecia Evans has an awesome chance to earn the seat and is actively building her name identification among voters in the district. The 88th House of Delegates is classified in the Washington Metro region for advertising purposes. Her opponent has two groups spending 10’s of thousands promoting his name. We can further democratic progress and take another seat with more resources, more bodies, and more sharing for visibility. Those three things always go a long way to ensure a Democratic victory.
