“We have to go to other countries where they don't make decisions for themselves, and here, we make our own decisions and we want to keep it that way,” Bean said. “I think the majority of people in the Senate particularly would say the same thing.”

This is pure fiction.
There might be a universe out there in the vastness of infinite possibility, where the average citizen of this country actually makes their own decisions. But frankly I doubt it. I doubt it because typically the average person possesses little skill or practical knowledge in making decisions about their own daily lives.
What do you want to do tonight? — see?
People are troubled by decision-making, on the whole. Even people like me. It stems from the errant belief we hold about needing to be “right” no matter what.
It is stressful. It is the kind of stress that vibrates the mind still, and paralyzes our motivation. When someone or something imposes “right vs. wrong” on a decision it complicates the process of making the best choice or the choice that is truly right for us
And that's just what happens when we are called upon to choose a new car or what combination plate we want off the bargain menu. That’s just the stress and weight of normal day living. But this is a decision, which is quite literally life, and death.
They won't decide, they can't decide -- but therein lies the rub — inside their non-action the is decision made.
Do people feel more free under this mandate? I doubt it, and to be clear, they are not more free. They are not more free, and they have been set up. They have been betrayed and so will fail. The average citizen is not skilled in viral biology, pandemic strategy or vaccine development. The common household does not include the resources required to make these decisions with any expectation of success even if they did have the DIY knowhow.
It takes a bit more than watching a TED talk.
Bottom line is that these decisions were already made, many years ago. And then again and then again, when we voted for people who took office -- who took office and were expected to dedicate the full power of our government, and its vast resources and large population of experts -- which no private citizen has at their command — to discovery, and research and to formulate the best course of action to follow. It’s called Republic Leadership.
Now, we are faced with the blatant fact: we have been deluded.
Those we elected to govern — to lead — are unwilling or incapable of doing so, and are now standing up and shouting: they believe in us, so they don’t have to do their jobs. False statesmen proclaim from pompous stages — that they will not command the power of the government — out of respect for the populus who elected them. Decrying strawman exualtations and craven weakness, tell us -- we are free to make our own decisions. It’s on us. And they will defend to their last gasp, our freedom to make our own choices.
No, we are not free, this shirking of responsibility does not elevate — we are trapped.
It's a heinous betrayal of duty, and conscience.
Worse than this betrayal of trust, is the shame they push off themselves and on to everyone else … their victims. That’s what they seek to make us. Victims. No longer constituents. No longer the body public. But victims of their deceit and cowardness. The masses of the 700,000
I’ve even heard them refer to it as Natural Selection.
