Donald Trump Jr. couldn’t wait until Halloween to behave like a ghoul. He’s rushed to capitalize on the tragic prop-gun death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins by hawking a T-shirt mocking actor Alec Baldwin.
The newest item offered for sale on Don Jr.’s website are T-shirts and hoodies that read, “Guns Don’t Kill People, Alec Baldwin Kills People.” These tasteless shirts go for an overpriced $27.99. And MAGAts can get a “FJB” baseball cap for $29.99 to go with the shirt.
I posted the link to the website because of the reviews section. RIght-wingers are eager to display their Trump Derangement Syndrome and proudly don the shirts. Meanwhile, Democratic supporters have posted comments unsuitable for Daily Kos consumption trashing Don Jr. and Don Sr,
Here’s one of the milder ones: “Don Jr. You are the scum of the earth. Congrats on selling these garbage tchotchkes to that brain dead fan base. “
Don Jr. obviously couldn’t restrain himself when given a chance to go after Baldwin, who ridiculed his dad repeatedly on “Saturday Night Live.” Baldwin has been a long-time supporter of tighter gun regulations, while Don Jr. is a vocal gun advocate who has posted photos of himself as the great white hunter with dead animals he has killed on safaris.
The former guy raged against SNL and Baldwin earlier this year when he denied a Daily Beast story that he had attempted to sic federal agencies, including the Department of Justice, on late-night comedians who mocked him. Trump dismissed the the story as “total Fake News,” but added that “Baldwin has no talent, certainly when it comes to imitating me.”
Baldwin accidentally killed Hutchins last Thursday while rehearsing a “cross -draw” that involved him pointing a revolver at the camera on the New Mexico set of the indie western “Rust”. Director Joel Souza was wounded.
People magazine reported that Baldwin met with Hutchins’ husband and son outside a Santa Fee hotel on Saturday morning.
The magazine wrote in another story:
A source also told PEOPLE that Baldwin was”hysterical and absolutely inconsolable for hours,” and he's looking "to take some time to himself and re-center himself," as he cancels his other projects.
"This was pretty devastating. This is how he handles difficult times. Whenever something bad happens, in the short term, he removes himself from [the] public eye," the insider said, adding: "Everyone knows this was an accident, but he's absolutely devastated."
But tht didn’t stop Don Jr. from pouring salt in the wounds as he twisted around a National RIfle Association catch phrase “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.”
Don Jr. promoted his ghoulish T-shirts in an Instagram Story by photoshopping one of the shirts on Baldwin’s image. He justified his decision to capitalize on a tragic death for his monetary gain.
“Screw all the sanctimony I’m seeing out there. If the shoe was on the other foot Alex Baldwin would literally be the first person pissing on everybody’s grave trying to make a point. F-ck him!” Trump Jr. wrote, according to Huffington Post.
The Twitterverse responded with outrage over Don Jr.’s ghoulish behavior.
