Law enforcement has a tough job, and not all cops are bad.
This may have turned into another black man shot or killed that made headlines, but cooler heads prevailed, despite numerous attempts by the suspect to provoke the officer.

We can expect some on the right to condone bad behavior by police, pointing to this incident. Instead, this officer should be commended for putting his life on the line and having good judgement to not use deadly force, while pointing out that other law enforcement needs improvement.
But we also need to recognize just how dangerous police work is.
This week in Jackson County, Georgia, Sheriff’s Deputy Lena Nicole Marshall was killed answering a “routine” domestic dispute. She was a single mom with 3 children.
On Friday, the deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call around 9:20 p.m. in the 6400 block of Ga. 124, according to the GBI. The 911 call concerned the homeowners wanting a non-resident removed from their home.
When the deputies met with Worsham at the front door, she pulled out a firearm and pointed it toward them, the GBI said. The deputies told the woman to drop the weapon, the sheriff’s office said, but she opened fire, eventually resulting in her death. An autopsy will be performed at the GBI Crime Lab.
