Dear Democrats,
I’ve been a loyal Democratic voter since birth. As a black woman I was raised to be long suffering and to stand by folks to the very end. But Democratic party I come to you today to let you know that I’m starting to deal with my traumatic past and dealing with my problem relationships and finally choosing to put myself first for a change. And the toxic relationship that I’m thinking it’s time for me to reassess is the one that black women have with the Democratic Party.
Without question, black women have been the backbone of this party and the one group that showed up through thick and thin. This is despite the fact that the Democratic party doesn’t seem to value us and will throw us all aside to keep trying to win white suburban women. Who are not only not that into Democrats but will vote against their own interests (Hillary Clinton) to uphold a #2 position in the white patriarchy.
Well Democrats, if you can’t finally get your crap together and stop cheating us for these women that could care less about you let alone themselves, then we need to part ways.
I’m putting it like this. It’s either their vote or mine. I refuse to align myself with a party that isn’t aligned with me fully.
Let Karen go or let me go, but you can’t have both. It’s time to choose.
