A man who allegedly participated in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6 and is wanted by the FBI is now seeking asylum in Belarus, the country’s state media reported Monday, presenting him as a “simple American whose shops were burned by Black Lives Matter activists.”
Evan Neumann, who appears to have sat down for an interview with Belarusian state television in a segment entitled “Goodbye, America,” is wanted in the United States on charges of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, as well as for assaulting, resisting and obstructing law enforcement during civil disorder.
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry could not be reached for comment.
Both Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and his close ally Russian President Vladimir Putin have frequently referenced the Capitol riot, calling the prosecution of those involved an example of “double standards” by the United States because it frequently criticizes crackdowns on anti-government protests abroad.
Good riddance a-hole...

Evan Neumann, 48, is wanted in the United States on charges of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, as well as for assaulting, resisting and obstructing law enforcement during civil disorder. Neumann denies the charges as “unfounded.”
Neumann sold his California home in spring and was thought to have moved to Ukraine to evade arrest, ABC News reported this summer.

In a sit-down interview, Neumann recalled crossing swampy forests and meeting wild hogs and snakes in his journey from Ukraine to Belarus. Belarus 1 reported that Neumann traveled from the U.S. to Italy in March, then took a train to Switzerland and drove to Germany and Poland before settling in western Ukraine, where he had rented an apartment for four months.
Raw Story
Evan Neumann was charged by the FBI Tuesday for assaulting police officers on January 6 during the Capitol riot. His case is a rarity: Details of the charges were released despite the fact that Neumann remains at large.
Neumann, 48, of Mill Valley, CA continues to occupy a spot on the FBI's Most Wanted list. He was captured on police bodycams at the riot wearing a MAGA hat and gas mask and launching both physical and profane verbal attacks against police, the FBI says.
Details of his violent action and profane tirade against police were released by the bureau just three days after Donald Trump ranted that there was "a lovefest" between Capitol Police and the insurrectionists and that the rioters were "tremendous."

Neumann was reported by an anonymous tipster identifying as a family friend. The FBI says it matched him with "with a 2018 press report by the local San Francisco, CA, ABC news affiliate documenting the case of Evan and Mark Neumann after they were arrested for violating orders not to enter a disaster area after a wildfire."
I guess they didn’t like this jackass back home...
ABC7 News
Agents say they have photos and video of 48-year-old Evan Neumann challenging and attacking police during riots at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
This is not the first time Neumann has made news locally.
In early 2018, ABC7 News followed him and his brother, Mark, when they went to trial for walking past a National Guardsman and visiting the family home in Fountaingrove following the Tubbs Fire.

Both Evan and Mark Neumann pleaded guilty in that case, paid fines, and did community service.
For Evan, however, the federal charges are much more serious. He faces six counts. They include assaulting, resisting or impeding officers, obstructing law enforcement during civil disorder, and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
I can see why...

During the bedlam on Jan. 6, Neumann was captured on an Capitol police officer’s body camera. Neuman was wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat, an orange scarf, black coat and blue jeans. He had a gas mask with a red mouth piece, according to the affidavit.
The FBI said in the video Neumann removes his gas mask, berates police and threatens an officer, saying, “I’m willing to die, are you?”
Neumann allegedly grabbed a metal barricade between police and the crowd, shoved it into the line of officers and threw punches at an officer, the FBI alleged. At one point, Neumann lifted the barricade and charged toward the police line, striking officers, the FBI said.
The FBI released images of Neumann on Jan. 27 seeking the public’s help to identify him. A tipster who called the FBI identified Neumann as the suspect and provided a residence in Mill Valley.
The FBI continues to seek the public’s assistance in identifying individuals who participated in unlawful conduct during the Capitol Insurrection.
