Poor Ron. He is a Fox News star who is pulling in tons of money to run for president. But he is afraid of his supporters who don't like vaccines, masks, and Covid booster shots.
Sadly, unvaccinated Americans stand a much greater chance of suffering serious illness and death than do people who put their faith in the mainstream expert medical consensus on Covid-19. Glaringly, many of these faithless souls are Republicans.
Meanwhile, the Democrats have yet to pick someone to oppose DeSantis for governor next year. But the winner of the Democratic primary ought to go right at the governor, mocking him for his permissiveness and weakness. DeSantis, who presides over more than 60,000 Covid deaths in Florida, doesn’t even have the guts to directly tell a Fox News propaganda minister whether he got his Covid booster. You would think he cared about the well-being of Republicans, but he plays to their prejudices, some of which are deadly.
Our governor has been cowering for months, protected by his blind media supporters, big buck political boosters, and everyday voters who swoon over his every pander. They love it when DeSantis gets down on his knees and gives the crowd what it wants. For proof, look back to October press coverage, when he declined to say whether he would get a recently approved Covid booster shot. Talk about political correctness.
Poor Ron. He is a wimp. Florida deserves better. We deserve to live. We deserve a leader who will fight for us, who will protect us from serious Covid illness and death.
Equally telling, it is fair to ask whether we can trust him on other pressing issues. He won’t talk straight with us about a medical emergency that can kill us. How can we trust such a weak man?
