Thrifting—or gasp, regifting—for any kind of present tends to be pretty taboo. The assumption is, of course, that how much you spent on an item is a correlation with how much you care about the receiver, or how much you want to impress or wow them. If you gift someone a high ticket item, the implication is that you’re really serious about your relationship with them, or you see your relationship as “worth” investing in. Of course, these ideas are outdated, patriarchal, and obviously classist. They’re also really embedded in contemporary life, but I promise you, they don’t have to be.
A simple alternative? Go thrifting.

It is no secret that carbon emissions are harmful to the environment. Many people do not know that the fashion industry is responsible for most of the carbon emissions. This industry is the second largest polluter in the world, right after the oil industry.
It accounts for around 10 percent of greenhouse gas. thriftworld.com/.…
