In November of 2020, college educated women looked at their ballot choices and resoundingly said “He’s not my type.” This in turn caused a grown man to cry. The correct response to this is?
A. Provide a shoulder to cry on.
B. Distract him by jingling keys
C. Raid taxpayer funds for pampering
D. Tell him to shut the F up.
Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos chose C. The initial election investigation was a four month contract with a $72,000 budget. Questionable assault witness Michael Gableman was hired to run the investigation.
Gableman’s $11,000 monthly salary appears inadequate for meals or maybe someone stole his lunch money. Debit card statements, posted by American Oversight, reveal charges at Green Bay’s The Bar for $42, Waukesha’s Pizza Ranch for $24.66, Brookfield’s Emperor’s Kitchen for $42.20 and Elm Groves’ Yamato Sushi House for $69.33. Despite no actual receipts (still waiting), the state reimbursed these costs.
Exactly where else does one learn how to fritter away taxpayer money on election audits? Arizona comes to mind. Gableman booked a Southwest Airline flight to Phoenix plus pocketed some frequent flier miles. The stay at Phoenix’s Embassy Suites cost $359.10 and $280.29 on August 10, and $420.69 on August 11. No receipt, no problem, the state once again reimbursed the charges.
Vos extended the investigation thru the end of the year and is now looking to ignore that deadline. Taxpayer funding increased to $676,000; which is not the correct answer.
