So sometimes in the vagabond life, you look at a map and see a cool spot with cool colors (or... warm colors in this case! ;-) ). You find the access from the north is closed with the reservation is passes through. You then decide to drive 120 miles to a highway that you then drive 65 miles to this remote patch of land with no idea what to expect from the south. You then find a beautiful volcanic mountain to climb and then slip down like crazy on.
Built from layers of lava leaking out of the sides of a volcanic vent, it is a deep red breathtaking wonder of nature, and one that I was glad to wander and bring to life.
