We are not going to do any of these things ever!!!
This is ignorant, racist, insipid, and absolutely unnecessary.
It is reminiscent of this guy, whom happens to be my state senator.
Yes, Stephen Huffman is that guy who asked if "colored people" get and have the coronavirus because "colored people" don't wash their hands.
He lost his ER job in an area hospital. The local NAACP wanted him to resign.
He didn't. Instead, his cousin, Ohio State Senate President, Matt Huffman, named him to lead the state's health panel.
Why is he getting rewarded for his ignorance?
Was anyone told about this before it happened?
Could this have anymore elements of H.P. Lovecraft?
Do these gentlemen understand the implications of eugenics in the American history as well as the existence of eugenics in the medical school text books?
Here's why I am bringing these actions on Black History Month.
As long as the coronavirus is not yet eradicated, we need medical professionals, not those who practice eugenics, espouse racist and xenophobic conspiracy theories, or choose who is worthy of medical treatment.
I think of James Marion Sims, who was named the father of gynecology while operating on enslaved Black women without anesthesia.
I think of the Tuskegee syphilis experiment that was done on African American men who were sharecroppers. What made this absolutely immoral and infuriating is the not telling the participants there was a treatment or even administering a treatment for syphilis. It was a very callous and cowardly action.
We also need doctors who listen, not call Black men or women angry when we tell you what we need or what medicine works for us.
Take into account what has happened to Serena Williams.
Take into account what would have happened to Beyonce if she wasn't famous.
I had preeclampsia with my first son. I was sent home. I went to my appointment and wound up in the hospital for six days.
I'm glad to be alive to tell this story.
Racism is a public health crisis because it wasn't addressed before the coronavirus hit.
