Just a quick note for everyone in the path of these winter storms who has been keeping disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer in their car for convenience- read the labels and call the manufacturer to confirm that they’re still effective if they have been frozen.
After this week’s cold spell, my precious Clorox lemon wipes froze solid when the temperature hit single digits this week. Yeah, I stuck them in front of the heat vent to thaw when I headed into Kroger and wanted to clean off the cart, but I knew that was goofy while I was doing it. The consumer help line at Clorox was just able to confirm that my fears were correct- most readily available consumer wipes are not effective any more if they have been frozen.
If you’ve got wipes in your vehicle (or you had them delivered and think that they were frozen en route) treat them like a damp paper towel. They’re no longer going to be effective as a disinfectant. My precious...
