Smashed.
Destroyed.
Devastated.
Roasted.
Left a smoldering heap.
Really?
I doubt this diary will be popular, but I'd like to suggest a reduction in over-the-top hyperbole in DK post headlines.
It's just clickbait to have headlines like "X totally destroys Z" or "Z smashed to pieces by X " or "X devastates Z" or "X leaves Z a smoldering heap." Come on.
Usually the destruction or the smashing or the devastation or the reduction to a smoldering heap is nothing more than a cogent, well-articulated response to a question or statement. Often it's a pithy tweet or a clever retort. But no one is left devastated or smashed or roasted, etc.
I think it would be a good thing to eliminate the over-the-top hyperbole with reasonable phrases like "X rebuts Z's editorial with facts" or "X speaks truth to Z's falsehoods" or "Z's lies called out by X" or other similar reality-based phraseology.
Addendum: Thanks to everyone for the tips and recs, and also for the many funny comments. Cheers!
