If these dumbasses had any sense at all, they would shut up. Every single time that they open their mouths to complain about this bill, they are begging for a comparison of the two bills. Considering that their bill was historically unpopular and our bill is historically popular, that comparison won’t do them any favors. How fucking stupid are they ? Absolute fucking morons. Every time that they say one word about the American Rescue Plan, they invite a contrast between the two bills.
Here’s what the CBO which is NONPARTISAN said about their bill :
On December 21, 2017, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its distribution estimate of the Act:
- During 2019, income groups earning under $20,000 (about 23% of taxpayers) would contribute to deficit reduction (i.e., incur a cost), mainly by receiving fewer subsidies due to the repeal of the individual mandate of the Affordable Care Act. Other groups would contribute to deficit increases (i.e., receive a benefit), mainly due to tax cuts.
- During 2021, 2023, and 2025, income groups earning under $40,000 (about 43% of taxpayers) would contribute to deficit reduction, while income groups above $40,000 would contribute to deficit increases.
- During 2027, income groups earning under $75,000 (about 76% of taxpayers) would contribute to deficit reduction, while income groups above $75,000 would contribute to deficit increases.[89][92]
CBO stated that lower income groups will incur costs, while higher income groups will receive benefits: "Overall, the combined effect of the change in net federal revenue and spending is to decrease deficits (primarily stemming from reductions in spending) allocated to lower-income tax filing units and to increase deficits (primarily stemming from reductions in taxes) allocated to higher-income tax filing units
.The Act is based on tax reform advocated by congressional Republicans and the Trump administration.[7] The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reported that under the Act individuals and pass-through entities like partnerships and S corporations would receive about $1.125 trillion in net benefits (i.e. net tax cuts offset by reduced healthcare subsidies) over 10 years, while corporations would receive around $320 billion in benefits. The CBO estimates that implementing the Act would add an estimated $2.289 trillion to the national debt over ten years,[8] or about $1.891 trillion after taking into account macroeconomic feedback effects, in addition to the $9.8 trillion increase forecast under the current policy baseline and existing $20 trillion national debt.
So, their bill costs about the same as ours. However, the CBO made it plain that their bill hurt the poor and middle class and helped the wealthy. Again, what did the NONPARTISAN CBO say ?
.
They spent $2,000,000,000,000 on the wealthy with their bill. They are opposing items that cumulatively added up to about $550 after spending $2,000,000 . That’s insane. They are complaining about 5.50 to 20,000 which is slightly more than 1 to 4,000 or 2.5 to 10,000. That is about .025%. That is not 2.5% . Rather, it is .025% . Since their bill and our bill cost about the same, then the ratio works either way.
So, either they are complaining about democrats spending $1 after they spent $4000 or they are saying that $3,999 out of every $4,000 in our bill are expenditures that they find unassailable. That’s in terms of the items that they actually mention in their complaints in Blackburn’s tweet and McCarthy’s disastrous series of lies. If a bill which passed Congress only had .025% spending on items which they found objectionable, then I should wonder that they opened their mouths. The single largest expenditure in our bill is the most popular feature: the direct payments. Our American Rescue Plan goes towards the poor and middle class who were hurt by the pandemic. It is targeted. I can’t fathom any objection towards at least 85% of it.
Almost 85% of it goes towards: direct payments of the poor and middle class, state and local aid, unemployment insurance, tax credits, aid and child care for families, reopening schools and higher education, and vaccinations. The poor and middle class were clearly hurt financially by the pandemic and direct payments go to them, state and local governments were clearly hurt by the pandemic and there are serious consequences for the poor and middle class in services lost and jobs lost if they are not helped, many people lost their jobs or lost a substantial portion of their income and unemployment insurance goes to them, tax credits go to the poor and middle class as does aid, families with children were clearly hurt by the pandemic as children could not go to school and child care credit goes to them, public schools and higher education were undeniably hurt by the pandemic and aid goes to them, and the vaccinations must be paid for and so money goes to that. There is a direct line between the pandemic and the expenditures in the American Rescue Plan. Any and every catastrophe in the United States hurts people of color, marginalized communities, the poor and the middle class far worse than it hurts wealthy white people and families.
The approval rating for their bill was 34%. Only 17% thought that they were getting a tax cut.
Our bill has 75% approval !
A new Politico/Morning Consult poll found 75 percent support for the legislation to just 18 percent opposition, including 59 support among those who identified themselves as Republican. It also found 71 percent support from those in rural areas, 55 percent support among those who voted for Donald Trump in the 2020 election and 53 percent support among those who expressed disapproval with Biden’s job performance.
85% of Americans will be getting a direct payment ! So, that number will remain healthy !
And these bozos are inviting a comparison between the two bills. Absolute morons. Dumb as rocks. I am astounded that these imbeciles haven’t figured out that complaining or attacking our bill because of spending is not exactly a good idea given that they voted for a strictly party line approval vote for the Trump two trillion dollar tax cut for the wealthy.
Both bills cost about $2 Trillion. So, the cost of the bills is not the difference. What are the differences?
Our bill helps the poor and the middle class and 85% of Americans get direct payments. Our bill cuts child poverty in half. Our bill has 75+% approval.
Their bill exclusively helped the wealthy. Their bill only had 34% approval. Only 17% believed that they would get a tax cut.
