I am posting this because of the very disorganized way vaccination appointments are being handled in Colorado and elsewhere. People are calling, signing up in multiple places, while others are waiting patiently for a phone call from the government which never comes.
We have to be proactive about this, even as the vaccine shortage wanes.
Last week, Delta County did an 800 person vaccination event. Balloons, snacks and chapstick. A timer on the table for four people. Happy atmosphere, I'm told.
This week they have another, and prioritizing residents is great, but this is a small county, the sign ups are online and the slots aren't all filled yet.
Friday, the 12th of March, 2021 there is a mass vaccination clinic in Hotchkiss at the Delta County Fairgrounds. As of Wednesday evening, there were many afternoon slots available. You must be available for both shots (that’s what they said last week) 4 weeks apart.
Here are Colorado eligibility requirements:
- Ages 60 +
- Frontline essential grocery or ag workers
- Licensed Child Care providers
- Educators
- Healthcare workers
- EMS
- 18-59 with 2 or more high-risk

Hotchkiss is an hour away from Grand Junction, 4 ½ hours from Denver. It will be snowing on I70 in the mountains and will be raining here, so don't sign up if you are worried about the weather, there will be a jab for you soon.
