For most of the Trump era, many of his most diehard supporters complained that we opposed him simply because we couldn’t accept that he was president. Well, those complaints look staggeringly hypocritical in light of what we’ve seen from some of Trump’s most ardent religious right supporters. A cabal of pro-Trump “prophets” would have us believe that Trump will return to the White House—not in 2025, but in 2021.
One of the most extreme of that lot is Johnny Enlow, who has openly called for Trump to be restored to the presidency by way of a military coup. Well, it turns out there’s another “prophet” openly calling for the military to overthrow Biden. Namely, Jeff Jansen, founder of Global Fire Ministries and Global Fire Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
On Tuesday, Jansen sat down with Steve Shultz of Elijah List and made a chilling declaration—the military was poised to restore Trump to power before the end of April.
People for the American Way’s Right Wing Watch got a clip.
Jansen claimed that Biden is only in the White House because of a “hostile takeover” that was seemingly legitimized by a “fake inauguration.” On the surface, he seems to be explaining how he whiffed on his prophecy that Trump would win a second term—one of many charismatic/Pentecostal “prophets” to do so.
But then Jansen took an outright seditious turn. He claimed that because Trump didn’t actually concede, but merely “stepped aside momentarily while things are being sorted out.” He claims that with Congress and the courts unwilling to declare him the real winner, the military has taken control. Supposedly, the military has already determined that Trump really won—and is poised to “return civil power” to the rightfully elected president, Trump. Later, he put a date on when this would happen, saying he’d be “surprised if things didn’t happen by the end of April.”
This is absolutely chilling. Once again, we have a pro-Trump “man of God” openly calling for a military coup. And doing so with the Jan. 6 insurrection still fresh in everyone’s mind?
The whole thing is viewable on Elijah List’s YouTube channel, as well as on the Facebook channels of Elijah List and Elijah Streams. Jansen also shared it on his own Facebook page. He starts his prediction of Trump returning in April at around the 26:40 mark; Shultz steps away in the midst of it to tend to his dog. As he did with Enlow, he didn’t seem to bat an eyelash at this dangerous announcement from Jansen. Almost as unnerving is the number of people who either “liked” or “loved” this seditious message--almost 400 people on Elijah Streams, and over 700 on Elijah List. Being charismatic/Pentecostal myself, it’s particularly unnerving to see so many of my fellow believers embracing what can only be described as outright fascism.
It’s even more chilling when considering Jansen’s past comments on the matter. Back in February, he claimed that Biden wasn’t really president. Peddling the deplorable canard that Trump had actually won in a landslide, he declared Trump would be back in office by June at the latest. Watch him say it.
He has also claimed that Biden isn’t a legitimate president because Trump is recognized as president in heaven, and falsely asserted that the coming military coup is the “last line of defense” in the Constitution. Watch him say it.
This can’t be dismissed as just the rantings of Internet cranks, especially after Jan. 6. And it’s even more telling that Shultz appears to condone this. It cannot be said loudly enough—in the name of promoting “words from the Lord,” Shultz is allowing outright sedition. This can’t be allowed to continue.
Report the original videos to YouTube and Facebook. And while you’re at it, report the Elijah Streams YouTube channel and the Elijah List and Elijah Streams Facebook pages as well. I repeat—this “ministry” is now openly promoting sedition.
