It’s Not The News, But My Opinion About The News” so
By Hal Brown
What’s not to like about Congressman Ted Lieu? Before today the outspoken congressman was frequently in the news as one of the impeachment managers in the Senate trial of Donald Trump .The graduate of Georgetown Law School has a Wikipedia profile that causes me to react like this:
Not in Wikipedia is the way he describes himself on his Twitter page as “Husband of Betty, the love of my life. Father of two great kids. USAF veteran. Member of Congress. In that order. Also, empathy is good.” He also has a photo of his adorable dog Abbott, a maltipoo or as Lieu called is, a multpoo, may be a cross between a Maltese and a poodle.
Ted Lieu is currently in the news big time (web news search) again with his scathing take-down of Dr. Deborah Birx who is now desperately trying to rehabilitate her reputation:
Rep. Lieu deserves a shout-out for putting the brakes on Dr. Birx’s too little, too late effort to save herself from the humiliation she deserves for not having the guts to take a public stand against the dangerous misinformation Trump was purveying. Her excuse that she thought she could do more good from the inside as some kind of medical Trump whisperer seems to me to be more egotism than naiveté.
Addendum:
Not everyone in the political world gets the honor, in some cases the dubious distinction, of being caricatured by the talented DonkeyHotey (Don Quixote, if you didn't get it) whose images bring out the personalities of the subjects. Here’s his take on Dr. Anthony Fauci. As you can see it is quite different than the caricature of Deborah Birx.
