Amidst a confusing vaccination system in New York City where you might have to register with multiple sites just to find out that there are no available appointments, I want to thank the volunteers at epicenter-nyc.com for stepping in to make things easier.
I found out about them (believe it or not!) through an article in the New York Post about how to get a vaccine in NYC. I’d been trying to get an appointment for a bit over a week and finding zero availability. I’d registered with a couple of different sites, but in order to get an appointment, I would have had to log in each day and check, possibly multiple times. It just felt exhausting.
So when I read the Post article, I thought, “Why not?” Epicenter NYC is a group of volunteers that takes some of your information and refreshes multiple websites looking for an appointment for you. You can set some criteria for when and where you’re willing to go, but having the most open schedule possible will give you the best shot of getting an appointment.
So I filled out their form and less than three hours later, they texted me with an appointment for next week.
If you’re in NYC and eligible for a vaccine, give them a try!
