More satire than serious:
A non-clinical opinion by Hal Brown, MSW
Let’s have some compassion for our dear Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert as one of their House colleagues, their compatriot, and co-crazy has sucked all the media attention away from them. For all three pushing beyond conventional limits of outrageousness is their life blood. They have mastered the art, or is it science, of getting maximum media attention for what they say.
Gaetz is all over the major media with no mention of these two. For example, Gaetz has numerous stories about him on RawStory. All four of their trending stories are about him. There wasn’t a single story about media hogs Greene or Boebert on RAWSTORY when I looked awhile ago, and as I write this another one was just added:
Until I get bored I’ll follow RAWSTORY and post their new articles about him in the replies to my own first comment.
Attention craving Taylor Greene has introduced ridiculous legislation which still has gained her media attention: Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Bill Targets Dr. Fauci In ‘Fire Fauci Act’.
Perhaps yet another a sign of Greene’s desperation is that she has pronounced she has a cure for Covid-19, as described in the Daily Kos story about her April Fool’s Day tweet: Marjorie Taylor Greene reveals that the cure for COVID-19 is ... pumping iron! Would it be that this was just an April Fool’s Day prank!
You will note she is using weight plates from Rogue Fitness which I suppose she thinks sends a message. At least she didn't get her barbell plates from “Bells of Steel.”
I doubt either Greene or Boebert are prone to depression. People with their personalities, and this includes Donald Trump, tend to get angry when the majority of people would feel depressed under similar circumstances when they experience setbacks in their lives.
Major clinical depression is a profoundly disabling disorder which used to be called melancholia. Ironically one of the ways to alleviate depression is exercise so while lifting weights won’t prevent Covid-19 it may actually help with depression.
Of course I am not diagnosing Reps. Greene and Boebert. Perish the thought that I would do such a thing. Two words: Goldwater Rule.
So clinically depressed or not, I have a feeling that they may harbor some resentment towards Gaetz, but not for exploiting underaged girls, instead it would be for taking their thunder.
