On the local news this evening (April 8th), there was a report on plans by the Biden Administration to relocate Hispanic children, those currently in overcrowded border detention centers and who cannot presently be reunited with their parents (due to the Trump Administration's policies of separation, or due to parents sending very young children across the border alone.)
For this report, the station filmed and aired two "Man on the Street" interviews for comments on those plans possibly sending some of those dispossessed children to the Erie area. Both persons interviewed were women. One lady — “Erin” — was sympathetic to the plight of the children. However, the other lady interviewed — “Sue” — was bereft of charity and full of NIMBY. Sue said, in essence, that this was all Biden’s fault and his problem to control, but she preferred that it would not be in Pennsylvania.
Not just somewhere other than My City, but somewhere other than My State as well…
You can read the story for the exact quotes and see the video here.
As “Sue” might explain, Jesus told his disciples this (Luke 6:20-21 NIV): "Blessed are you who are poor, as long as you stay in your own Kingdom and ventureth not into Mine. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be able to find your own sustenance via GrubHub and UberEats."
Also see (2 Corinthians 8:9 NIV), wherein Our Lord instructs: "If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess, but don't waste it on the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven if you can figure out how to take it with you; come and follow Me."
